Fusion 360 combines bodies on its own and I can not separate.

I drew a few I beams and C channel for a Press. Like many other times fusion will combine bodies as one on its own. At this point I can not separate them or manipulate the individual pieces. What am I missing?

You need to change the "Operation" setting in the dialog of whatever operation you are doing.  If the tool body is adjacent to another body, it will default to "Join".  If the tool body overlaps, it will define to "Cut".  Most likely you will want to choose "New Body" or "New Component" to keep them as separate bodies.  You can go back and edit the feature to change the operation type, even after the feature has been created.
