The list of degradations is pretty much as long as the list of changes, and there have been a lot of software changes over the last five years. Plus, the downloads themselves clog up internet speed, consume data, slow down Fusion, cause "Not responding" freezes, wipe preferences and default setups, and cause crashes with and without error reports.
Some of the biggest degradations have been the cessation of local simulations, the deliberate degradation of the 'arrange' (nesting) function in order to manipulate customers into paying more for the extension they released at the same time, and now i notice that 'flange' has been degraded which means the program simply cant do what my business needs, even though when i started with the program it was very good for my business. These and other degradations have cost my business thousands in lost income, the very thousands i need to be able to afford Inventor. And even Inventor is an insecure program that might well be being degraded like Fusion. The idea of paying $4k per year for Inventor just isn't enticing. Considering all my experience and files are with Fusion, that puts my business in a serious predicament.
Dont you notice all the changes degrading usability? Or dont you use the program? How about the recent changes, some of the font in 'manufacture' has been increased in size which means the data in dialog boxes isn't always visible without increasing the size of the dialog box, which would be extra effort to have to do all the time, and can make the dialog box take up too much screen. The check boxes have now become feint, making them difficult to see. In the post process dialog box the lines now have heaps of space between them which means you dont have as much information available at any given moment, and creates need for extra scrolling. The bottom of screen toolpath simulation bar used to clearly show each toolpath and other aspects, and where the simulation is at, whereas now it just shows the current toolpath.
It would take me days or weeks to point out all of the degradations, with the end analysis being, upgrade the program to a previous version, sack all of the development staff and managers, and hire two good people over the age of 50.
The whole IT industry has no connection with anything important these days, and productivity is going right out the window. There is a trend of the younger generation being unhappy about society and trying to destroy it, maybe that is part of what is going on. We use computers more and more, and yet productivity is going down down down.
