im posting a snip of the problem, you can just see where the tool randomly shoots of into the material. this does not show up on the simulation. but it did scrap a mold that i have been running for 6 hrs. this only happened on two cavities and none of the others. any explanationfusion problem.JPG on why this is happening?

I believe I have fixed the issue, but I don't understand it. I had to bring the tolerance on the contour down from .0004 to .0001. Why would such a small amount make that big of a problem? Is there a rule of thumb on setting the tolerance?

Hi @tsimsTX256

I took a look at the file, and the basic answer is that there is an issue in smoothing where in certain cases it collides into the material without warning. The workaround is to disable smoothing or adjust the tolerance (like you did) until it works correctly.

This has been logged with the team and it has quite a bit of attention. (Internal CAM-13397)

Cheers,

Karina
