The good: Using the local exporter for STL files. This speeds things up tremendously, and is great for those of us doing a lot of 3D printing work.

The not-so-good: Apparently the default quality for the STL export when done via the File -> Export menu is now locked at Medium, and there appears to be no way to change that.

The bad: When using the Right click -> Save as mesh option to save the model as an STL file to regain access to the refinement option, after the save is completed it then brings the Windows Explorer window to the foreground, again with no option to disable this behavior.

take 3MF, then this won't happen.

Greatly appreciated; I have to make a correction to my earlier report - when an STL is exported, Fusion does not automatically bring up the Explorer window specifically; Fusion loses focus and switches to whatever program is one layer behind it within the Windows environment. I just happened to have my Explorer window there, and so it would always pop back up, because I would just switch directly back to Fusion after. This behavior definitely suggests that it is a bug, rather than an intended effect.

That is incorrect; the window focus swap happens with both 3MF and STL. Please note, this is using Right Click -> Save as mesh, as it is the only way to access the Refinement option. Right Click -> Export does the exact same thing as File -> Export, and does not give you the option to modify the Refinement level for the export.

Dunno what to tell you, happens here 100% of the time, regardless of file type for saving.

Edit: And happens about 50% of the time when I hit cancel on the file save dialog.

If it happens with all files you could start the repair tool.

Out of interest, why export STL from Fusion? Most slicers can now directly import STEP models.
