EXPORT an .STEP file into .STL
Take a look at the screencast for my process. Please note, when you download it from the email link, you will see this in the screencast, the extension is missing. Add ".stl" to the file you save.

Once you have uploaded your STEP file, another method is to right click on the component in the Browser and select "Save As STL". This is probably the easier method.
