I have been trying to show my students how to do an assembly and then an exploded view and drawing. This year I had them start with a file of parts they had already modeled. I had them turn off all but 3 of the items and the create an assembly of those 3 parts. That worked fine as did creating the explosion, however, it doesn't allow them to create the drawing correctly. They can bring in the exploded view on the right but then when they try to add the front and top view, it brings in all of the original objects, including the ones turned off.
