Error on opening certain individual project

Anonymous
Not applicable

I had to reinstall my OS recently. Therefore the old Fusion360 installation was gone and I had to reinstall it on the newly refreshed Mac OS.I can open majority of my projects I was working on, but one of them, ArduinoMega_Step_AP203, is triggering an error when trying to open it. It says it can't be downloaded from your server. Your Chat advisor told me to come over this Forum.

Please help.Thank you

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry to hear that.

Does it say anything if you click on "More info"?

Can you try and see if opening an older version of that design works? Not suggesting it as a solution, but just to check..

Also, can you please share the log files?

Try to open the design and let the error happen so it gets recorded in logs, then collect the log files zip and upload here.

Thanks

Thanks for your fast reply.

No, if I click on "More Info", nothing happens. I'm not being presented with anything.

I can't see any previous versions either. It's just this project (which btw is the most important one for me) not opening.

I attach the log file below.

Thank you for sharing the log files.

Couple of things we could try:

  • If possible, can you try checking if the design in question opens from a different machine?
  • If it doesn't, or if that's not feasible for you – will you be open to invite me (anand<dot>somani<at>autodesk<dot>com) and one of my colleagues (ahsan<dot>ali<at>autodesk<dot>com) to your Fusion 360 project so we could take a look?

Thanks.

I did send an invitation to the mentioned email addresses from Fusion Candle, as I'm unable to send those invitations from within that particular project, because it's not opening.

See new screenshots attached:

Thank you, @Anonymous.

Yes, received the invitation to Candle hub.

But unfortunately I'm not able to see any design files there. May be you'll need to invite us to specific Project as well.

Can you please check the path of the design file? You can do that by clicking on the small dropdown which shows you the version number of the design. For example:

Here you can see my "renderings" design file is under a Fusion Project named "My Second Proj". You can check what project name it says there for your design file, and invite us specifically into that project. You can invite via Fusion 360 or open details in web and invite from there.

Thanks Anand. I have to admit that I'm really a rookie with Fusion360.

While trying to follow your latest instructions, by clicking on the Version arrow, I was able to see that the previous versions of my project were available and opening just fine. (e.g. latest was V16-not working, V15 opens fine)

Thankfully I did not lose all my work on this project. I will continue from V15. Still, I don't know why the latest version got corrupted on server. Maybe your technical team will consider this story in the future updates.

BTW, after managing to open V15 of my project, my Mac popped out a message saying that Fusion was trying to control my computer via SH. I don't know why Fusion would need SH access to my computer, which is posing a high security risk otherwise.

Thanks @Anonymous. Glad to know you were able to move forward!

And apologies for any inconvenience.

Sure, if you could invite us to the specific project, we can try to find out what happened to v16.
