Hi, I've been trying to edit a dimension of a rectangle from 140.3mm to 141.3 mm, but each time fusion says failed to resolve, you need to delete constraint d1. The problem I'm having is that d1 is the constraint I'm trying to edit. If I delete d1, I can manually drag the rectangle larger but as soon as I try to add the constraint again, fusion says failed to add constraint and keeps at the last size that I have manually moved it to.

Hi @franco.coetzer

It is hard to determine the issue without a file, but try deleting the construction lines that you have here:

In future, I would suggest you to use parameters next time when you are making sketches. This can ease the pain that you are encountering at the moment.

Example can be seen here:

Thanks a lot,  I will definitely look into using parameters instead. I managed to get around this buy deleting the two dimensions, 94.3 and 140.3, then I created another center rectangle with the new dimensions and used the tangent tool to connect the fillets to the rectangle. it worked but when trying to adjust the dimensions again just to see if it will work should I want to change it again some time later, but it gave the same error. None the less for now its fine and I will recreate the model with parameters. thanks for the help, its much appreciated.

thanks @sutherland-

Hi,

In the screencast I show how to get the desired result with simple and fully defined sketches.
In addition to the coordinated use of conditions and dimensions, I make sure that things such as edge fillets are not created in the sketches but as a feature on the solids.
