Editing offset face feature can't add more faces

Hi there,

I am building wood joinery with lots of small faces that I wan't to apply an offset to so the boards fit together.

I have one feature in my timeline that applies an offset.

first, it is really difficult to select all the faces, I often find it easier to box select all the faces then unselect the ones I don't want, but to get to the offset face I need to use press-pull and select a face(I would vote for an explicit offset face command buried somewhere).  I would love to find a script that can add faces to an offset feature based on surface area range. any ideas?

second, if I try to edit an existing offset face feature it seems broken trying to add more faces to the selection. instead I get a dialog popping up asking what I want the offset value to be. And now even if I add more faces manually it forgets the previous selection. what is the designed workflow for adding/removing faces from the offset feature?

When you edit an offset are you holding the Ctrl key down? You should be able to select one face and an offset then hold the Ctrl key down to add more.

Cool that actually seemed to work. I was holding shift, which looks like it selects a face but apparently holding shift and clicking two faces measures the distance and applies that as the offset but doesn't actually change the selected faces. seems like a UX issue, I would expect something like a measure tool for that mode.

Thanks!

Actually Shift does nothing, you get the same result if you click another face without the shift key. Using Ctrl to add to a selection is used for random selections in most windows programs and Shift is used to select a consecutive range which doesn't really fit\work for a CAD program.
