Data panel is causing huge performance degredation

Fusion 2606.1.36 x86_64
Active Plan: Subscription
Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (26200.7840)

Sample document: https://a360.co/4ay4xDg

While working on a project today, I found that performance would get worse and worse until I restarted the app. I could go around 15 minutes before Fusion became unusable. Simple elements, like tooltips, took many seconds to draw. You could watch the images in them load. After five or six cycles of that, I sat down and found reproducible steps:

1) Make a very simple document. The sample I've shared is an extruded 10mm square.

2) Save it to a project that has a few items in it. The one shown below has maybe 20 or 30, although I first saw this happen in a directory with maybe 8.

3) Make sure the data panel is open to where your file is saving

4) Change the heigh to the extrusion and save it again.

5) Do this five or six times

Eventually, the app becomes so slow it starts to trigger all the usual "too much compute" nonsense. The component browser turns black. The %$&@ app window backgrounds itself.

The only way to improve performance is to restart the app.

Watch in this video how slow it all gets after only a few saves. You can watch the menu chrome draw, and yet the system is using hardly any resources (CPU/GPU).

Could you dump Fusion logs and post here?

Thank you @bentwookie. It did show some suspicious 404 error there. I need ask team to take a look what happen there. But one thing I noticed is, it seems your disk only has ~3% free. I am not 100% sure this is related, but you might try to free move space and test whether this is better.

Ha. I hadn't noticed that drive had gotten so tight. I cleaned house, but the problem remains.

Hi @bentwookie , thanks for reporting!

To better investigate the problem, could you please also record a performance problem report and share with us?

You can access the tool through Fusion Help→ Support and Diagnostics→ Report Performance Issue. Please just record the workflows with slowness into the steps.

We will further investigate on the root cause when the report is received.

Thanks for your continued support!

Thanks,

Lisa

I'm unable to reproduce this problem on the Insider build Rajkumar mentioned in a different thread.

Thanks @bentwookie for the update!

It's good to know that the problem doesn't happen with your insider build. Please feel free to let us know if you have other performance issues/questions.

Thanks,

Lisa

I am having the same issue, across two different PCs both on Win11.

100% unusable.

@jason We have an update coming likely next week that could help with this problem.

That could help, but there is no NOW solution?

Can I roll back two updates ago, when it worked fine?

Not only can I not use the software I pay for, if I try to use it in the background (bc of how long it takes for any one task) it commandeers the RAM so I can't use the entire PC.

@jason Unfortunately we do not have a roll back option. Would you be open to getting our Insider build? Being a paying customer you do have access to our product support team.

I don't want to have to pay to be your Beta tester.

If that means I can use the software I pay for now, sure.

@jason That is fair.

Do you switch between hubs a lot? Also, do you use the Home tab rather than the data panel?

I switch between hubs maybe once or twice a week, not daily.

**EDIT** My owned Hub works ok, the Hub I'm a member/admin of (that I mainly work from) is unusable.**
I only use the data panel.

Have sent in multiple submissions (report performance logs).

Thanks.
