Copy and Paste New of components plus linked drawing

Hi, I have designed a component and made a drawing of it. Now I have a to create a new part by Copy and Paste New of the old part to make some changes. The new part has a new name and a new drawing number. How can I avoid to create the complete drawing again? Is there a possibility to Copy and Paste New a Component together with the drawing of this component to have all the links and associativity copied too. Than I would like to make the changes of the new component and only refresh the drawing.

Is there a solution or a best practice recommendation?

Fusion 360 cannot re-link a drawing from one component to another.  There is a work around if you plan ahead.  This blog article w/video goes over the process.

Thank you very much for your answer and the very good explained video. Unfortunately I was not succesfull. I can not open the modell in the downloaded, uploaded and renamed drawing for the new part. May be this is because the origin part is not an isolated part but has some linked other parts and was edited in an assembly by edit in context. Is there another idea for a solution? So far thank you very much and have a nice day.

If the component is already involved in an assembly the only way to use the process I described is to end up replacing the component in the assembly with the one you copied.  This can be very messy depending on how deep the component is in the assembly, you probably do not want to go there.  I am experimenting on possibilities but so far I am coming up with a blank, do not get your hopes up for a "simple" solution.  The process would be easy if Fusion 360 allowed the replacing of components but it does not have this command as of yet.
