in some cases I can convert the stl files in Fusion 360 to be able to modify them, in other cases instead the conversion menu does not even appear, but I don't know for what reason. How do I get an editable stl in Fusion 360?

Hi @stbz,

thanks for posting! Are you getting any notifications about not being able to convert the STL? Could you send us the link to the file (or the file itself) for further testing?

Thanks in advance!

no I do not receive a message, only the conversion menu is not available. The ones I enclose are some of the files I found in thingiverse. If you import them you can't convert them.

Hi @Anonymous / @stbz,

thanks for the files! I was able to upload all three of them into a Fusion 360 project and convert them to BReps with the Model -> Modify -> Mesh -> Mesh to BRep feature. Attached the results.

Is that what you were going for? If so, could you check the following:

  1. Open Fusion 360
  2. Go your Profile Name
  3. Select Preferences
  4. Go to Preview
  5. Enable Mesh Workspace
  6. Select OK
  7. Restart
  8. Follow the workflow I described above to convert the mesh to BRep.

A drect Mesh to T-Spline conversion for your designs is not possible, because the STLs are triangular mesh objects.

Let me know if that helps. Thanks!
