Constrained Orbit Camera Failures

The accompanying screencast documents Constrained Orbit dysfunction.    While some of these behaviors were previously observed and reported, others are new.   In summation:

  • Pointer Icon inconsistent, sometimes appearing as Free Orbit Icon when the Constrained Orbit Retical is on screen
  • When 90 to cardinal plane, activating a Constrained Orbit side handle causes the view to flip 90 degrees
  • When activating a Constrained Orbit side handle, the view stays parallel to the initial view plane, instead rotating the view as though looking down on a turn table
  • Within the last described failure, the rotation direction reverses at 180 orbit of the Retical

Constrained Orbit is an essential tool.   You've broken that tool.   Please fix it.

Hi @mavigogun,

Thank you for reporting this!

Sorry to hear that.  I also thank you for sharing the Screencast!  I've add your reports into the ticket (internal ID: FUS-43146).  I will update in this thread once I have something to share about this issue!

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you - we appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

At this time I would try using free orbit while it is investigated.

If you have any questions, please let me know and I'm happy to help!

Thanks.

@saito.kh, hey, Kanehiko- just checking back to see if this is still on the radar.   Why?   Because I just needed to perform a Constrained Orbit along the problem Axis, and continue to suffer the 90 degree flip.  Any word of status will be appreciated.
