Components becoming invisible in Drawing environment

After making edits to my design in the Design environment, some components my become invisible in the Drawing environment, in spite of their visibility being turned on. This is often solved by going through the list of components in the browser and switching them on and off, until randomly the invisible component will appear again.

This issue being a constant makes for a very bumpy workflow. I have troubleshooted it before with Autodesk reps, have all the latest software, a brand new computer, etc. The problem always comes back.

Anyone else experiencing this?

@juanZHCDN

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file that exhibits this behavior to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

In the few cases I have seen others post here - there were issues in the geometry.

I've had similar issues in the past, see below:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-design-validate-document/drawings-bug-added-components-after-a...

Unfortunately, I never did figure out the root cause.

Hello,

Thank you for your help.

Please find attached the main assembly (where I make the drawings from) as well as the inserted component. It is a mirrored instance of this inserted component the one that wasn't showing in the drawing enviroment.

Thank you,

Juan

Hello @bwalker145

Thank you for sharing your post. It is the same issue. I posted it here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support-forum/persistent-issues-with-bodies-not-showing-in-the... for the first time in May last year, but it's been going from before.

As I said in that post I've gone through troubleshooting in several occasions but without success.

Let's hope @ TheCADWhisperer can help.

Best,

J

Hello @juanZHCDN ,

I have noticed in both of the shared designs, I see atleast 1 component is hidden(visibility is off), in this case when you create drawing, it will capture only the visible components at that time of drawing creation and when you add a new component we see them in drawings but will be suppressed and seems expected.

I am checking with team if this behaviour can be improved

Thanks!

Hello @mohammed.aliTDPXK

Thank you for your reply.

I understand that new components might be added to the Drawing but suppressed, however, I can't make this new component visible until I go through most of the components in the browser, turning them off and back on, until randomly the new component suddenly appears in the screen.

It does seem more like a bug type of behaviour to me.

Regards

I see the same issue often. The fastest way I get through it is to save and close all tabs, clear cache, reopen the drawing, and then change the shading of the view to a different option and then back to black and white, or vice versa if I have a shaded view. It typically works, but I have to do it for every view the component is missing from.

Hello @juanZHCDN,

That is the known behaviour now, it will make sure the drawings does not include any new components added after you create drawing, this sound to me as an improvement, I will create an improvement request for this issue(internal ID:FUS-234445)

Thanks!

Thank you @jason6JL4J

That seems like it will be faster than the way I'm working around it.

Let's hope it gets properly sorted and we don't have to do any of these tricks anymore.

That makes sense that new components don't appear in drawings until they are turned on. However, they should come on when I unsupress them and turn the visibility on. Rather, I'm having to go through the browser turning all components on and off until the one in question decides to appear in the screen.

This problem is persisting. Right now I'm in the middle of turning on and off the visibility on every single component in my design until the hidden bodies will appear.

Hello @juanZHCDN ,

As discussed earlier, I’ve logged an improvement ticket (FUS-234445) and shared it with the appropriate team.

At this time, I’m unable to provide a confirmed timeline for when this will be addressed or if we will fix this or not, but please rest assured that it has reached the team for review and prioritization.

I’ll keep you informed of any updates as they become available

Thanks!
