Coils and threads are not cilindrical

Coils and threads are not cilindrical. This can be seen by projecting the coil or thread onto a horizontal plane and zoom it. Because of this, it is impossible to use a sweep to cut your own thread profile.

I will agree with you.  The un-linked projected sketch from a 10 inch diameter Coil is a Control Point Spline.  The maximum variance between this spline and a 10 inch circle is approximately 0.000175 inches, on the diameter.  I believe this is more than within the tolerance you can cut any thread you try to create and especially way outside the tolerance you can get if you try and have it manufactured.

To create my thread profile, I use two coils and sweep/path+rail (single path with one coil are not working). But the splines of the coils have a strange geometry and such defects appear as in the screenshot:

Attach your model so the Forum users can take a look at your process and model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

even if I create a sketch on a plane passing through the axis (on the plane through 3 points) , I have defects.

Try a plane on the path instead of the plane through 3 points
