Canvas Calibrate on a Mac - right click not working!

Anonymous

Hello. I'm a UK user and I'm working through the Fusion 360 beginner tutorial on a  Mac.  I've imported a canvas/image but when I try to access calibrate no side-menu/pop-up occurs, so I can't proceed to select calibrate. The canvas highlights but that's it. Any work arounds or basic errors on my part or solutions please!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thanks for posting! Are you able to right click on the canvas icon in the timeline in the lower right hand corner of your screen? Are you able to right click on anything at all?

Thanks,

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
The right click works generally but only serves to highlight the canvas - this is the stage I reached in the pic (it highlights blue). I’m not at the mac now to try the canvas icon to see what happens there.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Okay, let me know if the canvas icon in the timeline works when you get a chance (see screenshot)!

Hi again

So, I’m back on the mac and when I right click (it’s on a tracker pad, not mouse btw), the icon is highlighted blue - it is as per your screen shot.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thank you for the update! I'm curious, does this happen if you start a new design? Does it work with a different canvas? If it is just this current design that we are looking at, can you please export a .f3d file from the design and post it here?

Thanks,

Thanks

Here is the image. I took it from the US site - as I couldn't find it on the UK site (i'm not finding it easy to locate and /or work out what's what with the various tutorials and links - but that's an aside). Is it a format problem?

I'll try another image. I have already tried re-uploading and restarting this saw design.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thank you for the files. Can you try the following:

  1. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner
  2. Click preferences
  3. In the General tab (first tab)
  4. Next to Graphics driver, change from Auto-select to DirectX9 in the drop down menugraphics driver.PNG

Let me know if this helps!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Are you still experiencing this? Di you try changing your graphics driver in the preferences window in Fusion (mentioned in previous post).

Thanks,

Hi

I tried to send an update yesterday. I have worked it out - although I first re-installed. What it is, is that the pop up / marking menu is accessed not through a right click but through a two finger upward movement from the centre of the trackpad, with the left of centre held down too … i think. I’m not quite clear what it is but I am able to do it with a bit of a fidget about. Can you clarify what the actual click/ process is?

This is key not just for calibrating but for generally calling up the marking menu which is important for many activities.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It is just a simple right click for the marking menu (same as canvas calibration). You can check your preferences to check the trackpad secondary click settings. Also check the click pressure you need for the right click.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I just wanted to make sure you know that the marking menu is brought up by a simple right click! You can check your preferences to check the trackpad secondary click settings (shown in my screenshot in my previous reply).

Thanks,

Hello,

I am trying out Fusion 360 on a MAC 16 GB MOJAVE 10,14,3

I am experiencing the same issue. However my preference menu shows only 3 selections:

Auto-Select ; Open GL & Open GL core profile. So there is no DirectX9 available.

Any Other suggestion?

Jan

Hi @Anonymous ,

Are you having trouble calibrating the canvas? Did you try any of the graphics driver options that were available? Did they have any results?

Did you look at your mac right click settings?

Thanks,
