[Bug] Part name displayed in data panel does not match file

Part/File name displayed in Data Panel is correct, but when the file is opened it displays an old, incorrect name.

The incorrect part name is shown in the browser tree when importing into an assembly as well.

Restarting Fusion did not fix the issue.

Hi @bwalker145 ,

Thanks for reporting this issue, that definitely sounds unexpected.

To help us investigate further, could you please share the following:

Diagnostic Log Files

  • Open Fusion
  • Click on your profile icon (top right corner)
  • Go to Help
  • Select Support and Diagnostics
  • Click on Diagnostic Log Files
  • Save the zip file

Design Files

  • Please share the affected design file in .f3d or .f3z format

Once you have these, kindly attach them here so we can review and continue the investigation.

Hi @bwalker145

I had a look at your logs and the file.

I see in the local cache there are conflicting names for the file:

    <Name>pxc_3211634_02_05_D-PTTB-2-5_3D</Name>
    <lineageName>END COVER, 2L, D-PTTB 2.5</lineageName>

It seems like the method you used to Rename may not have stuck - do you remember what method you used? (Rename during copy? from data panel? From home tab?) I'd like to try and reproduce the behavior.

Cheers,
Karina

Hi @karina.harper

If I remember correctly, it was renamed via the Data Panel. All the files in that folder would have been renamed with the same method, but only that one had the issue. I've had this pop up a couple other times as well, both with imported data & native Fusion designs.

This was a file imported from a manufacturer, the "pxc" name is the original file name; I've attached the original file for reference.

I ended up just deleting & re-importing the model so I could continue with my work. I'll try clearing the cache next time this pops up.

Thanks @bwalker145

I actually am able to reproduce the problem using that file. If I rename it while it's still showing as uploading in the upload queue (even though the file is available - that's a different problem...)

I'll log this with the team to look into. Thanks for reporting!

Cheers,

Karina
