Part Name Bug

I'm encountering a strange bug in our Hub. I can't post photos or videos because it's company information but I will try my best to explain the issue below.

I noticed this morning that when I opened an existing design, the file name that shows up at the top of the screen (and in the tooltip when you hover over it) doesn't match the file name of the design that I opened from the Data Panel. The design itself is very obviously the correct design, but the displayed name at the top of the screen is for a different design in the same folder. I've tried re saving and versioning the part (CE update), and also restarting Fusion, but I'm still seeing the same issue.

So far as I can tell, this is the only part in this folder that has the problem.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I've had similar issues with Fusion displaying the incorrect part/file name, even when imported into other assemblies.

Started a thread and never got a follow up from Autodesk: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support-forum/bug-part-name-displayed-in-data-panel-does-not-m...

@scottprater

Can you share diagnostic log files? If you don't want to share them publicly, you can DM me. Do you remember what method you used to Rename the file? (named it during copy/save as, rename from data panel, home tab?) As a workaround, you might try resetting Fusion (collect logs first, please).

@bwalker145 I replied to your issue on your original thread. Sorry for the delay.

Cheers,

Karina

Hey Karina,

I'll DM you the log file so you can look at it, as well as what the file name should have been and what it was showing. I did reset Fusion using the utility and that seems like it worked, though I'm not sure how it would have gotten screwed up in the first place; the file was never named what it was showing in the tab, nor was the design generated/copied over from the design it was referencing.

I'll mark your solution as accepted, but I'd be curious to see what you can find out. I will note that our Hub was very recently updated to a CE hub, if that matters at all.

Thanks for sending me the logs @scottprater .

I see the same issue that @bwalker145 had in their logs - different Name and lineageName in the metadata.

I actually was able to reproduce the behavior using the file from @bwalker145 by renaming the file while it still shows as uploading in the upload queue.

When I delete the problem file from the local cache (which is what Reset helped with), it downloads the correct version from cloud and the name is correct. This is enough for me to log this with the team - thank you both for bringing it to our attention. 🙂
