BORE / CIRCULAR doesnt let you use surfaces not in setup model

is there a reason you have to add surfaces to the setup model, it would be far better if you could use BORE and CIRCULAR on surfaces that are not included in the setup model, I have a cone that i want to machine as a pre opp for the 3D adaptive so the left over stock wont destroy my cutter but i cant get a taper easily with out creating an extra set up

I was just able to do just that. Setup model is not this little tube I just made. But I can select the inner face with the boring operation no issue:

not sure what magical version of the software you have but i would like it....
