blue lines to black

I'm trying to create this form so that I could learn the sweep function, but for some reason, I am not creating the form correctly with the line function. As you can see, I only get one black line when I finish the sketch. I understand that the points on the right are not connected and the points on the left are on top of each other, but not connected. You'll see several sketches as I kept trying different things to get this to work to no avail.  I am working with an iMac running OS 14.3.1 and Fusion 2.0.18441 so some of the directions I'm trying to follow don't work the same, as in the tab key function.
FYI - I'm a rank beginner with 3D drawingcreated with linne too on XY planecreated with linne too on XY plane

In your screen capture, you are not editing the sketch so I cannot see what sketch constraints you have used.  I also cannot tell if you have added sketch dimensions.  I would recommend you attach your model so the Forum users can see what you actually sketched.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Hi,

1. the sweep path must lie entirely within one sketch and not spread over several sketches
2. white dots indicate open ends of lines

What is the source of the directions that you are trying to follow?

Do you have a link to a tutorial?

Thanks for the help of getting a proper image of my problem.
I had not saved the image I previously sent, so I created a new one and for some reason three of the lines came out fully constrained, while the last two did not. There must be some combination of keystrokes and mouse clicks tbat I'm not fully understanding so in this case, I had to draw a second line, which came out blue as you can see. I believe this is partially because the points in the lower right that are supposed to be connecting for some reason not connecting and I don't know how to force them to connect. Perhaps further constraints are also needed.

As I mentioned in the video, left click and drag an unconstrained entity in your sketch will probably help you identify what is wrong and what kind of sketch constraint or dimension you need.

Wow, thanks again John. Dragging that line as a real good tip to find that problem, that also explains why the constraint choice I was trying to use would not work?  And no, this is not any particular project other than trying to learn all the functions of fusion 360. All those extra sketches were just me trying to figure out the problem, I know having extra sketches like that it's not according to Hoyle.

That worked!!

Here is the link to the YouTube videos I was using - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrZ2zKOtC_-C4rWfapgngoe9o2-ng8ZBr
I was doing the paper clip project in day three. As you can see from this thread, I was finally able to get pass the simple line drawings. Now on to sweeping 😉
