I use a lot of the timber appearances for my models and after the update I did today the timber appearances have changed substantially and not in a good way!

Hi @david.quayle

What environment are you using? We updated the tone mapping to be more consistent across environments. See the what's new for more info and this thread for some customer context.

Cheers,

Karina

Hi

I'm using the Grey Room, the change from my perspective isn't good as it seems to have changed all of the timber appearances that I use and like. It's hard to show you the change the best I can do is show you a thumbnail of what one of the appearances used to look like and then what it looks like now, see attached. The Cherry finish (not shown) has gone from really nice to terrible!

Thanks @david.quayle

I think there may be a bug here. I applied the cherry semigloss wood appearance and after navigating around it a bit in grey room it switches to an ugly yellow-y color rather than the more cherry look. If you reapply the appearance that doesn't look right, does it seem more accurate? (and do you see it change?)

Hi

No I don't see it change when moving around. I reapplied the cherry Semigloss to a small table and while more orange than before it doesn't seem as bad as when I first looked. I have uploaded the Cherry I just put on a small table and a render that was done using the Cherry & while you shouldn't compare a Render with a non rendered Appearance it gives you an idea of the change.

Well I've had a play around and I cant seem to change the Cherry back to the way I used to look which matched the timber I use a lot. I assume I'm stuck with this orange lollipop colour!
