4k/5k Scalling After Updates.....

When using Fusion on a 4k workstation monitor (a lot of designers have them) I have to edit preferences on .exe files to get the software to scale like this: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Per...

This wouldn't be terrible except these preferences get reset on my system everytime Fusion updates and it's really grating to search for this file to modify all the time.

So.....

1. Is there any way for me to have the preference updates over-ride Fusion updates so I don't need to keep doing this every other week?

2. A request really.....If any devs read this, please for the love of god support 4k+ better or offer a proper scaling menu in settings. This really is a base requirement for any top-tier visual software developed in the last couple of years, nevermind one that's an evolving and subscription-based software as a service. Very frustrated.

Right, off to dig around to find the right files...........again.

Hi @g.cruicks,

Thank you for posting in the forum! Personally I don't have 4k monitor and need to check with the development team but which settings are you editing after each update? Also, are you on Mac or Windows?

Regarding your request for better support for 4k monitor, I'll definitely pass this to the development team.

Thanks Masa, while you might not use 4k many many design professionals do,
especially multi-disciplined product designers like myself that also
incorporate graphic design into workflow. AutoDesk can't seriously defend
native resolutions to a 1080p max in late 2018, it blows me away that is is
the case. 4k shouldn't have been reliant on upscaling for at least the last
couple of years. I use software from Serif, a relatively small developer in
the scheme of things, that implemented native 4k in 2015.

The ridiculous thing is, when I was looking for which CAD software I was
going to use, I watched a video of someone from Autodesk talking about
either AutoCAD or Fusion and he was doing it from behind a 5k Microsoft
workstation display...........just a prop? I wish I could find the video to
screenshot it.

Anyway, I'm going into 'Fusion360.exe' and 'FusionLauncher.exe' and ticking
the checkbox for 'Override high DPI scaling behavior'. After every update
to Fusion this box is unchecked and the file is in a slightly different
location so it has to be located again. It's basically the exact steps from
the Fusion help page linked in my initial post.

I'm using Windows 10, auto updated.

Found the video.....

AutoDesk employees use 5k in the office because you're all visual professionals.....so are your customers. So acting like 1080p is still the only resolution that could possibly be used by a designer is irritatingly out of date by years (emphasis on the plural) in 2018 and demonstrably hypocritical by this screenshot on your official YouTube channel.
