3Dconnexion SpaceMouse sketch lock

Has the latest version of fusion360 broken the SpaceMouse "Sketch lock" feature?

I have the latest 3Dconnexion space-mouse drivers (10.9.6).

I have the "sketch lock" ticked in the 3Dconnexion application specific page for Fusion 360.

I have camera set to "orthographic".

I have "auto look at sketch" ticked in preferences.

I have tried restoring space-mouse settings and restarting several times.

I have tried the legacy space-mouse drivers in preferences, but they don't even have a "sketch lock" feature.

Please help! This has rendered F360 pretty much unusable for me, as I have been navigating in sketches with the space-mouse for years now, and would find it incredibly hard to change my usage.

Hi,

1. prefererences > space mouse driver setting to „legacy“

Unfortunately, “Latest” is still faulty

2. Space mouse menue > Advanced setting > disable „Rotation“

3. sketch > look at

@paul.jefferies.0 I am not able to reproduce this behavior on my test devices - would you be able to include a recording?

@g-andresen what sort of issues are you experiencing with the latest SDK?

Interestingly, this problem does not happen on a new much smaller design!! In the attached video I show the sketch lock works (I am trying to rotate and pitch/jaw the space mouse, but the sketch stays in-plane as it should). So this problem is design-specific!!!

Hi,

1. I have been using the “legacy” setting for a long time to prevent the horizon from being blocked.

2. After an update a few days ago, I was once again confronted with a “blocked horizon.”

The cause was that the update had automatically set the driver selection to “latest version.”

After your inquiry, I activated the “latest” option for testing purposes.

I will report back if the old error (blocked horizon) continues to occur.

3. I would like to note that I have become accustomed to the effect, as I also have to bring the Space Mouse to life irregularly by plugging and unplugging the transponder.

Hi All,
I have the same problem.
It doesn't makes a difference to use legacy or latest driver in Preferences.
Only latest shows the option "Sketch lock" but this is without functionality.

Before updating to 10.9 the legacy driver had the Sketch lock out of the box. Now this option is gone for both driver versions.

What can I do to get it back?

Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Sebastian

Hi,

I just tested it.
The sketch lock works with the “Latest” setting (W 11).
I use the “Legacy” option because it prevents the horizon from being locked unintentionally.
For sketches, I select the “Look at” setting in the sketch palette (only when necessary).
