Varying Product Operations Depending on Machine Used

Varying Product Operations Depending on Machine Used

Currently, Fusion Operations does not support the ability to define variable operation times or amounts at the product level based on the machine a job is assigned to. When a product can be manufactured on multiple machines — each with different cycle times, feed rates, or output quantities — there is no native way to model this variability within the system. I would like it if Operations would introduce the ability to define machine-specific operation values at the product-operation level. This would allow manufacturers to configure different operation amounts (cycle time, quantity per cycle, etc.) for each eligible machine a product can be run on. When a work order is scheduled or assigned to a specific machine, Fusion Operations would automatically apply the correct operation values for that machine.

Thank you for your idea, @myersS6VWE !

Have you considered managing these cycle times at the machine level, instead of operation?

Your suggestion is 100% valid, however we got as well feedback in the past that certain machines are just slower than others, meaning they run e.g. on average at 80% of the speed. So having a "speed ratio" attribute for a machine would be easier to manage compared to have to manage the cycle time for each operation for each machine over time. Just curious to know how good this alternative would be.
