Report for Sales Order

Sales Order reports could include a filter for Product Families. We usually batch our production based on a category of product. That saves time on redoing machine setups over and over.
Having a filter for the Sales Order report can help users find out product categories that are present on order. It can also help bring transparency on which category of products have been highest sold.

Hi @haroonw , thank you for your idea . I've marked it as gathering support. In the meantime, two questions come to my mind:

1. When you say that you are batching the production, do you mean that you are "grouping" multiple sales orders into multiple production orders by grouping the products by product family?

2. If a sales order contains 3 products from 3 different families and you filter by a family, are you expecting the report to only show the product belonging to that family, or to show all 3 products because that sales order has at least a product belonging to that family?

Hi,

To Question 1, yes we group multiple Sales Orders into multiple production orders to avoid setup times.

For Question 2, it'd be great to sort out the products of a particular family on order so I can create a report and go through the process of creating production orders.

Thank you for answering, @haroonw. We could also consider having a way to do that directly into the system (meaning that you could group production orders from sales orders using attributes such as product families or others) to avoid you using Excel - just some food for thought 🙂

@andrade_david That's what I do right now. I filter out all the Sales Orders (in Sales Order tab) that have a particular product family on order.
But then I have to manually go through all the Sales Orders individually to get an insight on what products are on order.
