I'm writing to propose an enhancement to our current system regarding the connection between purchase orders and job operations.
Currently, when we create a part (e.g., Part #1234) that requires an outside service like coating, we create a "job operation" for the outside service and a separate purchase order for that service. Both receiving the purchase order and completing the job operation independently trigger an inventory movement.
Ideally, I would like to explore a solution where the job operation and the corresponding purchase order are directly linked. This linkage would allow for either receiving the purchase order to automatically complete the associated job operation, or completing the job operation to automatically trigger the receipt of the purchase order. This integration would streamline our inventory tracking and workflow for outside services.
