Label/Visualize high priority orders

Label/Visualize high priority orders

Hi, at the worker screen production orders always have a blue background color. Only changes in the material master (Product settings) allows you to add some color to this visualization. It would be great to have an easy way to change the background color in order to visually prioritize orders. A Checkbox would be great to mark a production order as a high priority order.

Hi @Robin_Kleinwort , thank you for posting your idea.

I understand that having a different color could help identify those. However, in case there are many active production orders, workers would have no navigate through the list to find them. What are your thoughts on having orders grouped or ordered by priority, so that the most urgent ones would come up first on the list?

Hi @andrade_david ,

thank you for your quick reply. We sort our production orders by due date and I already understand that manipulating the due date, brings the order all the way to the top of the list. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan of visual management and giving high priority orders a different color marking would make a difference to me. There will only be high priority orders with a due date of today or tomorrow, meaning they will always somewhere at the top of the list. Doesn't make sense to set an order to high priority with a due date far away.

Great idea! A simple improvement consisting on a new "Priority" Production Order field with possible values "3 - Low Priority", "2 - Medium Priority" and "1 - High Priority" that would influence Production Order tile color in the tablet.

Together with a new filter "Priority" in Production Order back-office page would be very beneficial.

In a second wave of improvements, you could develop 2 new settings:

1) Production Order tablet sorting: new option "Priority" available in Sort Production Order by

2) Production Order tablet grouping: new option "Do not ask for Priority when starting production" in Selection

Thank you for sharing more, @Robin_Kleinwort and @m_casal

Having the priority at the Production Order level is an interesting development, that could also be applied to other areas of the system (scheduling resources, material requirements). As the number of votes keeps increasing we'll be looking into this closer.
