Keep Purchase Order Open Until All Receiving Is Complete

Right now, when I go into Receiving and open a Purchase Order, I have to re-type the PO number every time I bring in a new item. Even after I check something in, it kicks me back out — so I have to search for the same PO again. If there are a bunch of items or partial deliveries, this gets old fast.

It’d be really nice if once I start a Purchase Order, it just stays open until I’ve received everything. That way I can go item to item without jumping back to the main screen each time. Once all the items are checked in, then it can close out.

Why this would help:

• Speeds things up when receiving

• Less typing, fewer mistakes

• Smoother process for big or split deliveries

I understand the pain point of always having to select the Purchase Order for every item/lot to be received. I've marked it as Gathering Support.

On a side note, we've also discussed in the past having the possibility to "pin" a certain step, such as a Purchase Order, a Product, or a Warehouse when receiving. That way we could support receiving parcial receiving for different Purchase Orders. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, I like the pin idea. That would really help for how we do our receiving. When we get multi-item POs, we trace each item with the PO number and complete the checklist one by one. Pinning would speed that up a lot and make the workflow smoother.

We like the pin idea too! Our warehouse team actually does all receiving in the back office simply because it is such pain to type the PO number in for every item that is being received in.
