Create Job from Product Page?

Was thinking that if I opened up a product and decide that we need to make that product for any reason, could a job be created from that page?  It would automatically create the next sequential job number.  The benifit would be a time savings not having to go to the jobs tab and create a new job and then re-type the PN into the job.  Just create the job straight from the product level.  Just a thought.

Hello @mattZP7CR, I've marked this suggestion as Gathering Support - beware you'd still need to define some mandatory fields, such as the Production Order start and end time, as well as the quantity ordered.

Nevertheless, if other users vote for this idea we will consider this enhancement to the system.

Beautiful! Yes, entering the basics such as quantity and dates isn't a big
deal. The efficiency would come in locating a Product and deciding this is
the product we need to produce and creating the job from that page.

If I may expand on this just one step further; if you could see "Quantity
on Hand" or "Inventory Count" for that product at the Product page then the
decision to make that part could be made based on the quantity on hand.
Many times a customer will call and ask about a certain part. We look it
up in the "Products" page to get the price but then have to navigate to a
different page to get the quantity on hand. If this could all be done from
the Product level that would be great!

That's an interesting idea! Indeed showing the quantity available in inventory could would help defining the quantities to be ordered to be produced.
