Weird Stock Simulation Bug / Easter Egg

Hi this is a very weird forum post, I was going about my day Cam-ing a fish and using the simulation stock feature when I zoomed in and saw something weird, check the video below.

Anyone else found this yet?

Ok, I get that it's cute and somehow intentional but now.... How do I get rid of it? Everything I do is tiny, and I've got better things to do with my time than staring at your cool/fancy industrial design studio environment (just makes me mad that i'm locked in a dull windowless box).  Seriously, I need to disable this to do my work. I'm always dealing with tiny parts and milling stuff with 0.3mm bits. Simulation is key for knowing when i'm going to hit something that's going to snap my bit.  And to that end, the glossy surface is also key as it seems you farm out that task to the graphics card which works great. When I select the more 'matte finish' options everything turns dull gray when I zoom in enough to see details.

And while we're at it... It's great that I can export the milled stock as an STL and re-import it to have a better look at it but measurements on the STL are **** near impossible! I perform a section and get the face where I need it, but then the measure command always seems to prefer points that are 5 miles from the section face. Also.... Being able to move a measurement endpoint would make me hate this part of my life a lot less.

Thanks and sorry for the irritation obvious in my voice here, I've just wasted a bunch of time fighting some bugs in the latest release and its apparently getting under my skin.

-Dan.

I have never seen it my self I use the sim the same way as you do.

Using the .stl as the stock is a drag on fusion useing it with cam and doing measurements is a pain unless you convert it (if you can).

Using from file is fine it is under rest machining, I have never used it for anything real there is a video on NYCCNC youtube chanell showing how to use it.

If something in fusion is being a pain just post and ask someone will answer to help you.

I see the Easter egg from time to time, and I must say that it is very irritating.  Please Autodesk, remove it, or allow us to remove it through a setting.  Sometimes I don't have to zoom in that much to see it, and it creates that big shadow and we can't see the details anymore as @Anonymous said.

This was posted a long time ago, but that easter egg is still there.  Please allow us to decide if we think it's cool or not.  For production work, it is definitely uncool, to the extreme, when you are stuck with it.  It really depends at what angle you need to look at the simulation, and what zoom level, but when it's there, it really sucks.  Please, remove!

Just found this hidden egg yesterday.  Almost disappointed it took me so long!

Edit:  Yes I did waste almost an hour playing with it LOL

Can Autodesk please remove the Pier 9 Easter egg?  I think the joke has overstayed it's welcome.  It creates unwanted shadows, in some instances making it impossible to see some fine details, specially in simulating CAM.

Another sample picture attached.  It was fun for 10 minutes, we've all seen it, very cool, now you can remove it please so we can see what we are doing.

What are your visual settings? I've changed a bunch of things to suit my taste and I no longer see that hidden feature

I had the "photo booth" environment.  It seems to be in this one that the reflection appears the most.  I tried all others, but found them all to make the part too dark.  Except "River Rubicon", in this one the part is bright, and there is a dark background.  I don't see the reflection in that one.

I'd be curious to see if you change your part material to "glass", see if you get the reflection?  That is when I get it the most.  I like to make my stock transparent, so I set material to glass, which is highly reflective of course.

What other settings have you change to make it go away?

I still don't see the point of the Easter egg though, we shouldn't really have to fiddle with settings to make a useless reflection go away, don't you think?

For material when I want it transparent(ish), I change the....wait for it...transparency 😄

I prefer Infinity Pool for environment, and here are my "Effects" settings:

Thanks Seth.

Opacity control is not available for components inside an assembly, and since I don't want to make the stock transparent outside the CAM assembly, well, I have to make it glass.
