Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to machine spiral flutes on a cylinder using the side of the cutter instead of the end. Anyone know how to do this?

One more note, my model has concave surfaces because I only connected 2 squares, one on each end, so Y axis moves are result of that, otherwise you would see XZC moves for mill-turn or XZA moves for mill, excluding lead in and lead out moves.
I'm going to play around with your model a little more later tonight and see if I can make it work for my application. I will run a test on the mill later today also. Thanks for your help!
Second look at your file, your mill-turn setup has axis pointing in wrong direction. Here is my file with setup for mill-turn and mill, ignore Y axis moves in resulting code other then lead in/out moves, I don't care to redo the model.
One thing I do routinely is coordinate position of origin in both Model and Manufacture space for mill-turn work.
They are functionally independent but when I have need to add sketches and create additional planes or rotate features, it makes it simple to switch between work spaces and have things in sink afterwards.
Can you still get this to work now that it is out of Bata. Every time I try to get the swarf to only do a 4th axis move it fails. Even duplicating your setup and just changing tools does not post. However if I just try your setup it posts just fine.
Thanks for any help.

Are you still able to do this process as described. We could generate this tool path a few months ago but since a fusion update the tool path generation fails
Yes mine fails every time I attempt to update the path in any way. I hope the Fusion team figures this out soon.
The 4-axis limit for Swarf was removed. There were some significant bugs tied with it, and rather than try to fix them, the devs opted to remove the option and get to work on bringing in a better option for 4 axis controls. It will be some time though before those become available to the public.
