use clamp codes

Hi I am using a haas umc750 ngc. in the post processor option i see an option to "use clamp codes". i understand that this operates the b and c axis brakes in between operations. im noticing that this option adds a ton of run time to my parts. i read in one of the other forums that haas already has built in brakes for these axises and that that i dont need to use these codes?  is this true?

I do not know the answer to that. Could you share your source for that bit of information?

@Tgauer86

Yes we have a 2016 VF-6 with NGC and trunnion table. We do not use brake M codes in our programs to save time. I can only assume that the UMC with NGC is the same…
