Two similar 2D Contour toolpaths, one extra long

In this project I have two similar toolpaths (2nd is an edited duplicate) having different tools but same chain selected, same stock contour. The aim is to have both tools travel the full length of the piece, ignoring the gap in the middle.

Note how the 2nd tool path travels a long distance outside the stock contour selection that's supposed to dictate the limits. Why?

Hmm, good question. Can you share the file?
File > Export > Save .f3d to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

As far as I can tell, this is definitely a bug, so thanks for bringing it to the forum! Only thing I can suggest right now is to make an explicit sketch and use that to drive the toolpath:

Yes, it is trivial to workaround the issue with a bit of sketching but it
is still annoying.
