Tooltips erratic, showing too soon.

I've read a few threads here claiming the tooltips disappear too soon, my biggest issue is that since roughly a year or so the tooltips are getting in the way because they appear too quick. They are almost always in the way in the most inconvenient places.

If you hover your mouse over to a field you want to enter data, you click the tooltip and get stuck into the tooltip from the previous field. I do like the tooltips on some occasions, but they are a pain to use currently.

On both W11 and macOS 14. The tooltips now show up instantly. I don't know what changed in the passed year, the position or the delay on when they appear, but it's different from what it was. I now toggle them on/off if i come accross a feature that i'm unfamiliar with or that i've forgotten, tooltips on is not working for me due to earlier stated reasons. roughly a year ago I had them turned on by default. But something has changed the behavior of the tooltips and it's too annoying to use them now.

Maybe it's my mouse behavior, but i like to go from top to bottom with the mouse, and the tooltips always appear under the cursor making it impossible to read/click the item that is under the tooltip balloon.

There is another feature that is bugged. When selecting the 'model' in the setup, while selecting the appropriate bodies, when you accidentally click on an axis of the WCS all of a sudden the WCS changes (te 'Model' is no longer selected, but all of a sudden the WCS changes everything according to the axis you've selected, the orientation changed, the selected axis you've picked for the orientation changes and that is now the new selected field). This was working properly untill about a year ago too.

For the tooltips, are you referring to this:

Or this:

On my Win10 machine, I'm seeing a healthy delay, is this different than what you're seeing?

Thank you for taking the time to include the screencasts. No, that is exactly what i have; the thing is that this small textballoon pops up immediately, no delay but goes off with a delay untill another field triggers the text to change. And if you click it, the larger expanded screen with text and images opens up.  That's the thing; if you are going from top to bottom with your mouse to change a value below the one you just hoovered over. So my annoyance is that going from top to bottom, clicking the textfield (of the feature you don't want to have information about, but the field below that text balloon) it opens the information of the field above. All this would be gone if the text balloon had a slight delay, in my opinion the text balloon serves no purpose at all, since it's just a copy/paste of the text that is right next to it.

Could you share a screencast of the behavior you're seeing?

A tad belated, it was a rather busy week. This is my issue with the tooltips. When hoovering towards OK, the text of the tooltip of the field above shows up, and clicking OK is impossible. (in this case it's the OK, but i am constantly trapped in the tooltip textfield, covering the layer below the tooltip textfield. (in my opinion this text balloon is completely useless, it's just showing the same text that is allready there). Perhaps a small subtle questionmark would be a better option instead of a huge balloon containing all the text making selecting the layer below impossible)

Tooltips often also stay on screen even long after closing the dialogue box that had the feature the tooltip referred to until IDK I move my mouse erratically or something.

Also don't see a point in a tooltip blocking the field I'm currently typing in constantly. I'm typing in a text box, I'd like to know if I entered in an extra 0 without having to close the dialogue box, move my mouse erratically, and then open the dialogue a second time.

Are you using any DPI scaling where it's possible Fusion thinks the mouse is slightly offset from it appears on screen?

I have the issue on my Mac with a 5k screen and on my low res windows pc's as well. The useless text balloon is simple always in the way as shown in the movie.

Right, I saw your movie. What I'm trying to figure out is why does it not show up on my PC or MacBook Pro? There's an environment that's triggering it and the more info, the better.

you mean that you do not see the text balloons?  And if you do see these balloons can you click them? I noticed that the position of the screens determine where the balloons appear. (Left, right, below or above the mouse). But I've left everything untouched in these movies, stock location.

Oh, I see the text balloons, but they go nowhere near impeding me:

did you see the edit in my post? The position of the screen determines where the balloons appear. Movie is still being processed.

No, I did not see your edit. I, too, keep my menus pinned where OEM places it, although I did move this one off the "dock" just to see if the behavior was different (it was not)

ah, i see. In your case it seems that the balloon is gone as fast as it appears, where in my case it seems to be more persistent or turned off with a larger delay than it appears.. it used to be like this for a long time, until half a year ago or so.

This is what I'm talking about when I say tooltips block content:

Screenshot 2024-05-01 at 10.04.23 AM.png

I can't see what I'm typing

And 10% of the time the tooltip stays on screen even after closing the dialogue and moving my mouse cursor all over the place.
