Tapered bits broken in Tool Library

Version: Fusion360 2.0.15665

OS: Windows 10 22H2 (Laptop and PC)

For some reason, some of my toolpaths couldnt be calculated anymore. Seems to be since a recent release.

I managed to pinpoint it to the tapered bits bugging in the tool library.

I can reproduce it on my Laptop and PC.

Most of my tapered bits have a bottom diameter that is huge. (In Fusion360).
While in fact the bottom diameter is (in this example) only 1mm.

2: how it is supposed to be

3: .Gif to reproduce

- I open the bugged bit

- change the Type to 'face mill'

- change the Type to 'tapered bit'

- set the Tapered Type to 'ball'

- Accept.

- See that the bit is saved in the correct configuration

- Click on another tool in the library

- Click back on the original bit.... it is bugged again.

This is not just visual; the system really tries to use the huge bit for calculating it's toolpath.
Attached a test tool library that has the issue.

This is a known and logged issue. You can also change it from Bull Nose to Ball End (Tapered mill tool-type) and the changes should show.

Well, it's a bug, so I posted it in the bug reports section.

It might be known and logged, but I couldn't find anything related in search.

Thing is... I can change it from tapered to facemill and back and then it seems to be just fine.
If that fixed it, no problem.

However, when i select another bit and then back to the first bit... the bit is changed back to the flat end piece again.

And for toolpath calculations now tries to use a bit thats roughly 1cm wide instead of 1mm

What happens when you set the "tip type" to "Bull Nose"?

You may need to toggle the Number of Flutes before you see any change..

Setting it first to Face Mill, then back to tapered and keeping it as 'bull nose' (which it isnt), keeps the toolbit in its intended shape, thanks

I'm also having this issue with tapered bits.

I tried all the solutions suggested above.

I see the bit change when I select a different "type" from the drop down menu......however the changes do not save when I hit accept. Also, depending on what "type" of bit profile I select before returning to the correct "tapered mill"......sometimes the Taper Angle doubles in size.

Im using Windows 11 with Fusion 360 2.0.15995 x86_64.

Is there any other potential fixes I should attempt?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone

I have the same issue. I pulled up the bit info on the spetool website and made sure it was all correct. I changed the radius to .75 and the Angle, I hit ok, and nothing is saved, it just does the same thing as before.

Does this not work for you?
