Simple Post processor for old c02 laser - .NC vs .NCP

Hi all,

I've just switched to fusion360 and I'm trying work out the post processors for our CNC machines.

We have an old CNC laser (made in Australia around 1995 its pretty much an antique). It uses a ANCA laserlab controller. But I cant find any mention of it online. It is currently being run through FastCAM but I want to be able to run it directly through fusion.

The codes seem pretty simple so I'm hoping I'll be able to reverse engineer a post from the g-codes Generated in fastcam (attached).

Could anyone point me towards a basic post that I might be able to edit to achieve this?

It uses the file extension .NCP. I cant find much information about this online. does any one know how this differs from a .NC code?

Ive attached an example g-code (changed the extension to .txt because this form doesn't allow .ncp) with a screenshot and .dxf of the part.

(dont mind my co-workers creativity with the example part lol)

So the forum wont allow me to upload my  g-code as a .ncp or a .txt

and it wont allow me to copy it into a comment.

here are screen shots of the start and end of the code.

Can you change the file extension to .nc and upload it? If that doesn't work, you could also just dump it into a .zip file and attach that file here.

How many axis does your machine have?

Hi Seth,

Thanks so much for getting back to me.

zip file attched.

The g-codes only contain x and y data.

It appears the z axis is calculated in the controller for the tool distance thickness and whatever.

I think I can just change the output extension with "extension = ''ncp'';'' is that right?

do you think jet.csp is a good starting point?

jet.cps is the right starting point for a new laser post.  from your description it might be straightforward to get it working for you.  If you get stuck, let me know.
