I am looking for a Roland MDX-50 post for fusion with tool changer, Anyone know where to find one? I have 4 machines in different schools and I am trying to avoid aspire.

@matty.fuller - you were 100% correct.
Turns out , for some unknown reason I had updated the G54 to G55 within Fusion, but was using G54 on the machine 😓, so the job was using a different origin.
Hi @carlingrieve ,
The machine supports a 114mm-long tool, and the toolpath you've created has an overall length of 80mm. It should function without any issues. The work offset is set at the center of the table, ensuring there won't be any Axis limit errors for XYZ/linear axes, given there's sufficient axis travel for XY. If a longer tool is used in the CAM project, the user will receive a warning if they exceed the total length defined in the machine configuration and the tool specified in the toolpath. This alerts the user to whether they are using a safe tool or not.
Why the machine is not moving further? There is a possibility that the CAM work offset and the work offset on the machine are not defined correctly. Perhaps the value was mistakenly entered in the wrong offset box instead of G54/CAM project. Could you please check that?
Thanks,
Hi @elee ,
I've been eagerly awaiting the final confirmation from our OEM partner to release this machine. Once I have the configuration in hand, it'll be promptly available in the library.
Thanks,
Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well.
I just wanted to inform you that we have released the Roland MDX-50 with ZCL-50 machine to the Fusion Machine library. The machine is assigned with the Roland ISO post processor.
Thank you for your patience.
Hi everyone, I have recently got access to an MDX-50 and I am new to it. Using Fusion 360 over its original Roland software seems much more straight forward. This post has certainly helped with all the digital files. Can anyone help me figure out how to transfer the final nc programme into the machine? Is it just a matter of getting g-code from fusion and transfer it directly to the machine? or will it need some more setup? Thanks in advance
Hello, Thanks for all the information, I was able to get our Roland MDX-50 up running from Fusion. Rotation via tool rotation was a success. Glad to be moving away from SRP...
Hello, I am having trouble getting the machine to rotate in what I think is the same direction as my Manufacturing space. I have tried several tool orientations adjustments. What I have noticed is the it is rotating in the opposite direction than indicated in the manufacturing space. I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks for your response. The code does indeed prompt 90 degree rotation. What I have noticed is that Roland's A rotation is in the opposite direction. When you are facing the indexer, from the view point of the tailstock, a 90 degree A rotation is actually 270 degrees or counterclockwise. An earlier post by naldredge shared a file that is similar to mine. Naldredge inserted a manual code that called for a 270 degree rotation to match Fusion's tool orientation, which in my case was a 90 degree rotation. I've included the file. Do you know if this is a post issue or does the Roland's A rotation need to be set in the opposite direction?
Hi @haselmar ,
You can make the following changes to the machine definition. Change the orientation to "custom" and set it to -1 around the X-axis. Also, set the rotary range from 0 to 360 degrees to get the expected output.
Please let me know if machine supports cyclic or not.
Thanks,
Hi Krupal!! Thanks that worked... The Cyclic range was a default setting and I only had to change the orientation to custom and insert -1. I will keep you updated if we run into other issues. We are happy to be up and running with Fusion...
