Hello, I am planning to perform 2-axis planar machining on the top surface of the material.

Due to precision requirements, I would like to perform hole machining by rotating only the C-axis without moving the X and Y axes

Is there a separate function to rotate only the C-axis, similar to a lathe? Or would I need to modify the post-processor

Hi

You can use the manual NC action command "USEPOLARMODE" with the HAAS postprocessor to get a toolpath the moves only in X(X+ to X-) and rotates the C axis.

You need to put the Manual NC before each toolpath you want to be Polar

(view in My Videos)

I think rather than using the Scallop toolpath, it would be better to use the Scallop in the Steep and shallow toolpath as this has a Spiral option with will give a continuous spiral inwards

You could also use the Spiral toolpath but steep and shallow is better.

Thank you. I was able to obtain accurate NC data. Is there a separate manual book where I can find commands like this?

Hi

The Action Commands are often specific to the Post processor, I think the Haas one is the only MILLING post that has the polar mode option.

all the Turn/Mill posts have something similar.

Here is a link to the Fusion Post Guide that has some more information
