Newbie to 4th axis can't get post process to work

Hi Experts,

I have decided to try to get the 4th axis on my no-name XYZA cnc running MACH3. The model looks fine, but post processor (was using the MACH3 one) doesn't like the rotary axis. Played around with others, but no luck. Most of the stuff I have read on this is somewhat obtuse, so hoping for a simple answer (haven't tried wraping in 2D, but would really like to learn to use the 'real' 4th axis in manufacture).

Hi @Anonymous

you have to set the setup orgin something like below

mach3.png

and after creating the toolpath  while posting you can mention the forth axis mounted along which axis so it will post the codes accordingly

Have you applied the mod to the PP. for mach3 it’s very well documented , unless you do that it ain’t going to work
