Hi, when I put text on a surface I've been using a font for nice pretty text.
I don't need that all the time. Is there a special font for simple engraving text fast and dirty? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks,
Nelson

Yes, it is!
But, all you need to do is create the text. No exploding it. Just select the bounding box when you want to do your engraving.
Do I have to use simplex? Will it engrave down the middle of any font selected?
(because I already put the text on and I'm lazy)
I omitted one detail;
For single line fonts (Simplex and others in that area), use the Trace operation with an Axial Offset.
Engrave is likely not going to work, as it's looking for width and depth
Thanks a lot! It does seem to work, depth control does the trick. It just offsets in from the outside boundary of characters giving a double line. I'll use the simplex. I'll have to resize it, lazy, but I can handle it!
Thanks Seth,
Lookin good. Trace - axial offset is a little unintuitive - could have been on the Heights dropdown but your clue did it!
