Manufacturing Model - A Simple Tip

Hi all,

It amazes me that you can use Fusion for years and still discover workflows that can help.

I do a lot of work laying parts out with the arrange function, parts that get routed out of plywood sheets. Naturally I make use of the manufacturing model to do this effectively.

With complex shapes, doing an arrange, then moves, aligns, sometimes it's hard to ensure that the bottom face is aligned to the sketch plane - important or course when it comes to manufacturing via a toolpath!

What I do is create two profiles ( last pic ), in this case spaced 15mm apart - 15 mm thick parts, 15 mm thick stock.

Then I do an extrude across my laid out parts, using "cut", it then shows any bodies that are not quite right, either too high, or too low or not aligned etc.

Simple - but it works.
