Hi

having problems with Gcode that actually someone very kindly done for me in an original post. as the title suggest, keep having errors with Bad character and K word.

there are so many lines that I have been at it for 2 days now and only managed to get hald way through but surely there must be another way of sorting it. I use Mach 3 programme when milling if that makes a difference.

any help would be great. ill attach the gcode with this post

What Post Processor are you using?
Are you saying that your machine doesn't support "K" values?

I recall hearing that Mach3 didn't care to much for I/J, but rather preferred R callouts. You can switch your Post Dialog to "Use Radius" and it will use R's instead.

The other option is to tweak the post processor so it only outputs arcs in the XY plane.

Hi

so changed in the post process: Arc radius and change to yes. now coming up on Mach 3 R I J and K words all missing from Arc

do you know in the post process where I would find the way to change the letters as you suggested?

thanks

I"m sorry, I don't understand. All words are missing, or some are still there?

Can you share your file?
File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply.

Trying to rule out a couple other things..

Using the generic Mach3 post processor, I get this:

Why you are getting R's turning into P's, I'm at a loss....

hi

thanks for the reply.

in the post process stage there is drop down list of different programmes. should I be clicking Mach 3? I have never needed to do this but do you think that might change it?

Oh! Yeah! If you are not selecting the correct Post Processor, you are gonna have a bad time about this...

Can you post the model and the Gcode you produced from fusion?

Otherwise, it is a guess what the problem it can be many things making it stop from you calling mach3 names to the

You change it to .txt or put it in a zip file

That Gcode is fine on my machine

Mach3 has a bug where it puts a warning out and stops the machine from working doing a restart clears it if it does not clear it is correct that something is wrong.

Mach3 is lose with what codes it can run K is one it can use if you click on the M-Codes button on the Program run screen it shows what letters are fine in Mach3.

ok thanks for that.

this might sound really stupid but see when your trying to run a programme on mach 3 but you haven't connected the code to the machine (i.e. simulation run) can that sometimes stop it from running?

thanks for your help so far. its really appreciated
