Live tooling lathe with Y axis

I have a Lathe with Live tooling and a Y axis.  I am trying to mill a pocket or circle in the side of the part in the Y-Z plane. I am using Fusion 360. How do  I get the tool to orientate correctly so the tool is held in the X axis direction and milling is done in the Y and Z axis direction ?

Tool Orientation is what you are going to need to turn on. It's on the Geometry tab of that toolpath. Select the cylinder as your Z axis to align the tool properly

To orient tool in radial direction, Z axis (blue arrow) needs to point in direction tool is coming from, you can pick face as I did in sample below or you can pick sketch line.

If blue arrow points in opposite direction, check "flip Z axis" box to correct it.

If you pick sketch line, that line needs to be perpendicular to face of feature you intend to cut, in case of drilling side  hole you pick wall of the hole as orienting feature.

If no convenient feature exists for what you need to do, you create sketch line and use it as tool orientation.

@seth.madore , picking cylinder (main body) orients tool in axial direction which is default in mill/turn setup and does not need to be selected for any face milling and drilling / tapping orientations.

Hey,

After you pick Z in the tool orientation for your live tool, does it matter which was x and y are pointing? I have

a haas Cl-1 with 2 live tools. Also post processer for cl-1 didnt have live tooling working last I checked. Tools on the turret move x positive to work piece,  but the live tools need to move x negative to  work piece. Any help with that would be great. Do I need to set the live tools with a negative number when x dia measure?
