Incorrect H # in g code

When I write up a program and post it and transfer it to my tormach mill, the H in the top of the g code is always H1 . I have my tool live matching the tool library on the machine,  if I edit the g code and enter the tool number in place of the 1 in the g code, it works fine. If someone could help me out I'd certainly appreciate it.

I was just coming here to look for something similar.

 

As I was attempting to run some code and had a tool crash into the table and averted 2 more by running at what I presume was a safe work offset as a sanity check.

 

I'm using the Mach3 post and noticed that no matter what tool I use (multiple in the same job set up) it will put out code like this fore instance.

Is this correct, or should it output H* as the tool number as well in order to grab the offsets from Mach3's tool tables?

One thing to check in the tool manager is that the number and the length offset match.

I read that somewhere, I was thinking that was the problem however I am sure the tool tablet in the library and the one in the machine are matching.. ks there something else that I could be missing there. If I try to run the program without changing the g code manually the tool length display turns read and reads 0.0000 and h refers to the tool length offset, I just don't know what else I could be missing.

Can you export your program and attach to this thread. To export click on the File menu pick export and save as an f3d file.

I'll export it in about half hour, I'll be at the shop. I'm using the most recent post from tirmach, not the generic mach 3, I'll see what it is called exactly when I get there. Its for a tormach 1100.

Unable to attach, , on example, but it happens in every program I post, Im using the post from tormach. Im assuming there is no problem with the post processor, rather it's some box I haven't checked or the likes.. thanks !

It's like I said you don't have the tool length offset set in the tool library. Here's a screen shot of your tool, the length offset is 1.

Awesome, thanks Mark! The length offset in the box there and the diameter offset should match the diameter in the top box and the overall length in the bottom box , under the cuter tab correct? (Which match the numbers I'm the tormach tool library on the machine in path pilot )

Normally you'd have the same number in all 3 boxes so in the image I posted of your tool, set them all to 29.

Edit. The numbers are to call the offset from the tool library in your control, they are not the sizes.

Yes, now when you post you should get a call for T29 and H29 you just have to make sure you've set the diameter and touched off the length for the tool in the library on your machine.

I just checked my tool library and saw that the tool lenght offset all said 0, so I changed them to the appropriate numbers. Then regenerated the post. But still there isn't any change to the output. They still say H0.

 

Am I missing something?

Did you update the tool library in the design as well. Once the tool is used in a design it is not linked to your main libraries. The Document libraries are at the top of the tool manager.
