Getting a Y Axis lathe to utilize C

I'm quite new to lathe programming, and even newer to Y axis capabilities. Currently working on a part that exceeds my Y axis travel range, and I can't figure out how to make up for it with the rotary. I need to cut 22 teeth with a tool that rotates about Z. No matter what I set the machine's Y range to, it just overtravels.

Hello mel5W9N5,

I think it's because of the Pattern. The post thinks it's going to index, cut, index, cut, etc. This is not really a bad way to go if cutting heavy cuts as you normally would clamp the spindle during the cutting. If you don't pattern them and cut all it would most likely go beyond the limits set in the post. I also changed the Y limits in the post I was testing on to be +/-5mm and that sent it into using c rotation.

Ah, I see. I was under the assumption that I would see it index in the simulation. Now that I've sent it through the post and read the code, it is indeed indexing. Thanks
