Facing the ends of a piece of stock

This must be one of the simplest scenarios but I cannot find the answer.

I have a length of stock, say  X=300mm, Y=50mm,Z=25mm, say a few millimeters longer than the job (X axis). The stock Y and Z dimensions are to drawing. Holding the stock in a vice with the ends extending beyond the vice jaws I want to face off to the X dimension (300mm) machining in the Y/ Z axis. One end then the other, lifting the tool to the safe height to transition over the vice.

Is this a 2D or 3D function? I cannot see an obvious candidate for doing this

Thanks in advance

Pete

(BTW I have tried adaptive clearing but it appears to have a go at everything it can find, on the job. Tasks that are destined for later operations.)

thats just a 2D contour and you select the 2 single ends of the part. Hold ALT while selecting to pick a single entity.

As  I suspected that is ridiculously simple. I was not aware of the ALT key single selection

Thank You
