Exporting DXF file ?

I exported in FXF a sketch containing a 2D geometry (airfoil profile). Looked fine when inserted back into Fusion but my 2D CNC machinist reported the file contained  just a circle. I tried reading it into Visio with the message "can't read file" although I read many other DXF's coming from Solid Works.

Any tricks to make it work?

Hi @valR7UZK,

See this link about exporting to DXF for Laser, Water and Plasma cutters.

I did not get too far with th eproject method. I selected the sketch with the geometry to project and press P. The tab only gave me the "boddies" option. How do I project a sketch object?

Hi @valR7UZK,

Have you turned on the visibility of the sketches you want to project?

Turn the sketches on and maybe the body/Bodies OFF so you can see only the sketches.

Can you share your model so we can take a look at it?

Here is the DXF exported straight out of the sketch it resides in (no projection yet). You can inserted back in Fusion 360 and looks OK. Notice the wing geometry is a spline imported through CSV. The CNC guy said he can only see the circle in the middle. Maybe doing a Project will take care of the spline too. BTW this method of importing CSV geometries was suggested on this forum an worked amazingly well in creating smooth curves out ot discrete CSV points.

I tried to read into  Solid Works  the DXF exported out of a Fusion 360 and re-exported it  also as DXF. It made no difference. Only the circle spears in the 2D CAD system the foam cutter is using. The wing profile imported into Fusion 360 as a spline ( I added the circle) is still missing.

I still cannot get the Project to allow me to select Sketch objects. The filter seems to be inactive showing only bodies. I am attaching the component (Wings) with airfoil profiles as sketches.
