Hello, I'm looking for some help with this issue. When a toolpath is generated that is empty, the rest material stock model becomes unusable for operations down the line and as a result, the machine everything instead of what is actually left over. Surely this is a bug, because if the operation had an error, and is empty, the rest material stock model is fine and can be used by subsequent operations without issue. Can we please update the software so that empty toolpaths have the same behavior as a toolpath that had an error? Looking forward to hearing some feedback on this.
As an example, this toolpath should just be finishing a small amount of material, but because the rest material failed to generate, it created an operation as if the use stock model option was not selected.
This is a known issue, logged as CAM-52392.
I believe the workaround is to "suppress" the toolpath in question and then the other toolpaths and Rest Machining will fall into line.
I've added this thread to the ticket, thanks for raising it!
No, this is an internal only tracking number. Any ticket that is related to the MFG forum will get an update when it is fixed, see THIS THREAD as an example
