Correct Toolpath for this object

I am a hobby user and just exploring the manufacturing capabilities of F360.  Could use a little help determining what toolpath would be most appropriate for the attached object's interior domed hex shape.  I have already been able to

create toolpaths for the outer rabbit and the inner top ring and hex pockets.  I am however having difficulty selecting the interior dome hex sides for roughing and finishing.

This a small die (1.5 in outer dia and hex of 0.5 in) and I will be using a .125 FEM to rough and a .0625 TBN to finish.  What say you?

TIA

Hi @ralph.tuttle

You are going to want to use a 3d Finishing strategy. I suggest starting with a Scallop first, since it will machine both the vertical and horizontal regions in one go.  If you have access to Steep & Shallow, that would be my first choice.

Both Radial and Spiral may give you nice results as well.

Upload the file if you need a closer look.

Thanks for the heads up.  I was able to use a combination of pocket and scallop.  Only broke one tool!

Hi @ralph.tuttle

Good to know.  Hopefully you get versed enough down the road to not break any tools 😁
