Continue rest machinning does not transfer stock.

Hi guys

I`m in a learning process of the "Rest Machinning" and I`m facing issue where the "defined" stock from first setup does not transfer to the second setup resulting in the path being calculated without the actual real stock dimensions.

This also means, that potentiall collision could take place if the rest of the stock to be machined remain well oversized.

Please advise if I`m doing anything wrong.

Thanks

I don`t think that it is currently possible to add images or screencasts once a reply is posted.

I thought that Seth had sorted this for you a day or so ago?? Do you not have the "In process stock" enabled?

Your file seems to work OK here if I can get this screencast to insert, if not I will just add a link.

Yes hi did.

So transfering is now sorted, let see if you can actually see the video that will explain what i`m refering to.

Any issues just ask me to explain.

Without audio, it's not clear what exactly you're trying to convey in your ScreenCast. Is it that the initial stock view on the second op doesn't look like the remaining stock? That's known, and currently a limitation. When you select the toolpath though, it does update the view to produce a proper version:

And if you're looking at that red band on the bottom of the part, that's because of the size of the Chamfer that you machined on Setup 1

Please check that screencast. I think this refers to your reply anyway "Is it that the initial stock view on the second op doesn't look like the remaining stock? That's known, and currently a limitation."

Ah! It makes it a LOT clearer with audio 🙂
The issue is that on your Setup 1, you have selected "Relative Sized Box" and defined no additional Stock Bottom Offset. Since you have a Stock Model already drawn up, select that instead in your Setup:

Once you do that, you'll need to regenerate all your toolpaths (CTRL+G), since the stock definition

has been changed. Result on simulating OP2:
